What exactly is a roof structure?
A roof structure can be the installation of a complete extra floor on your home. Actually this is the solution for a too small house because it allows you to create those extra bedrooms or workspace. But if you already have a low attic that you cannot do much with, you can also opt for a dormer window. With this you actually raise the floor and also bring in more light. This is also called a roof structure.
Flat roof structure
It is actually quite simple to install a roof structure on houses with a flat roof. An ideal solution if you have a house with two floors and you are planning to expand your family. By adding an extra floor you can quickly add 2 or 3 bedrooms to your home.

Cost of roof construction
Your current situation, i.e. what type of roof you have now determines, for the most part, the price for your new roof structure.
Flat roof
The easiest roof for installing a roof structure is a flat roof. It goes without saying that the costs for a roof structure on a flat roof are also the lowest. For an extra floor on your flat roof you can assume a square meter price of about € 900,- to € 1100,-.
Sloped roof single-sided or single-sided ridge rise (offset ridge)
When we talk about a one-sided ridge raise, we mean that the ridge is extended on one side of the roof. This is also called a relocated ridge. This gives you a roof extension on one side of your roof. The higher you extend the ridge, the more space you create. The costs are approximately € 1300,- to € 1900,- per square meter.
Sloped roof two-sided or double-sided ridge elevation (raised ridge)
You can also opt for a two-sided ridge rise, also called double-sided ridge rise or raised ridge. In this, a floor is actually built on the middle of the ridge of your roof. We can also say your roof is raised on both sides. This makes it possible to add a large floor. The costs are on average between € 2800,- and € 3100,- per square meter.
Prefabricated or custom-made?
Of course, what you choose depends entirely on your situation or desires. There is something to be said for both choices.
- Your budget. When looking at the budget, prefabricated is actually always the cheapest choice. This is because the structure can be built quickly in a factory without the influences of, for example, the weather. The quality of a prefabricated structure is also simply very good.
- The duration of the remodel. If you want the shortest possible rebuilding time, prefabrication is also a good choice. Because the roof structure is built in a factory, we can install the roof structure in one day. This makes your roof waterproof in one day. This fast installation also has an impact on the labor costs which again benefits the budget.
- Finishes. Of course, there are numerous choices in prefab. You can even choose a luxury prefabricated roof extension where the inside is already completely finished. You can also opt for a prefabricated shell structure in which only the outside is finished. Of course there are many different types of finishes to choose from in prefab but if you really have specific wishes then you will probably end up with customization. The choice of colors, materials and additional options is limited. So if you would like a completely unique design choose customization.
- The Size. As with the finish, the choice of sizes is also limited; do you want a specific size? Then you probably end up with customization.
Casco roof structure
If we install a prefabricated or custom roof structure on your premises, you can choose between a shell finish or a complete finish. If you opt for a shell finish, we will install the walls, window frames and, of course, the roof. You take care of the inside of the structure yourself. If we provide a complete finish, we will also install the walls and doors, water and electricity and of course a sand-cement floor. Of course, you can also choose to have us install the water and electricity and do the rest of the finishing yourself. Everything is possible!
